For those of you that doubt Registered Quarter-Horses make up over half of all horses going to slaughter,....here is just one study done back in 2003,....but there are more recent ones and I will post them here for you soon.
Click on the title above which will take you to the Equine Protection Networks "White Paper" report on "unwanted" horses. Once there, page down to the charts on Page 6 of that report. Here you will see a break down of horses sent to slaughter by breed. Look for the colums that are 10 times higher than the others and that will be the quarter-Horses going to slaughter as compared to other breeds.
The stats are from the USDA.
